The steps listed below are meant only as a guideline
in applying Chip Guard to your automobile. For best results, have a
professional apply your Chip Guard Custom Designs kit to your automobile.

| 1. Surface is prepared for coating by ensuring no dust is on the surface. Then the hood is sprayed with Chip Guard's special solution. Hood piece is then rolled out. Fenders are done with hood up. |
2. Lift up the 3M hood piece
half at a time while spraying underneath with the Solution. Then spray
the top of the film and position.

| 3.Once positioned to line up with both fenders (allowing approx. 1/2 inch overhang at the bottom and sides), squeegee the area (about 4 inches) at the center of the hood. Lift up half at a time, spray and squeegee. This removes any air bubbles present. | 4. A slight pull of the material (it will strectch a little) is necessary in order to precisely fit the film into position. This removes any creases that may be present. Squeegeeing alows the material to adhere to car's surface as well as removing air bubbles. | |||

| 5. Edges can be precisely fitted around curves and corners by pulling the material slightly. Additional film allows it to be 'wrapped" around edges to ensure full protection. | 6. A rigid but soft-edged (plastic) scrapper helps to remove trapped air, adhere to surface and any creases present. Working from the inside (centre) outwards firmly apply the scrapper in slow but constant strokes. | |||

| 7. Once all blisters and fingers have been removed, trim the excess material with a good pair of scissors leaving approx. 1/8 of an inch for wrap around. | 8. The finished product is an invisible protective shield with all edges protected. Chip Guard protection will last for many years giving your auto security against bugs, stones and other road debris. | |||
